UEFA Champions League Draw in Full: Liverpool Face Real Madrid in a Clash of the Titans

UEFA Champions League Draw outcome

Nyon, Switzerland is the location for the next stage of the UEFA Champions League draw. All roads lead to Istanbul for a second time with the first, of course, coming to a head in that iconic final between AC Milan and Liverpool. Both of those two are featured in thedraw once again.

Liverpool to Play Defending Champions Real Madrid

RB Leipzig were the first team to come out of the hat. It hasn’t been the smoothest season for the German side so far but they have advanced in this competition all the same. The runners-up from the year before last, Manchester City, stand in their way as they hunt down that elusive title under the stewardship of Pep Guardiola.

Club Brugge came next, a Belgian side who are punching above their weight and doing so in impressive fashion. Benfica stand in their way, themselves flying high after defying the odds and topping a group that featured Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.

Liverpool and Real Madrid are always two heavyweights of a UEFA Champions League draw, but only one will make it as far as the quarter-finals. The Reds are having domestic issues whilst Los Blancos will be looking to go all the way once again, as they did last year.

Tottenham Hotspur are the third of four English teams still in the mix and they will clash with the Italian champions. AC Milan have some huge stars in the form of Fikayo Tomori, Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao amongst others- players who will be known all too well by former Inter manager Antonio Conte.

Napoli topped their group despite it having Liverpool in. Lorenzo Insigne, Dries Mertens and Kalidou Koulibaly all departed Naples but that hasn’t stopped them, thanks to new signings such as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Kim Min-Jae. Eintracht Frankfurt are their opponents, having won the Europa League earlier this year, beating Rangers in the final.

Chelsea are one of a few teams who have been linked with the metronomic talent that is Jude Bellingham. This could be somewhat of an audition for the teenager from Birmingham as the Blues cross paths with his Borussia Dortmund side.

Inter versus Porto is the Jose Mourinho derby as these are two of the teams who he tasted European glory with. The UEFA Champions League draw always throws up fascinating storylines like these and so it will be fascinating to see who prevails in a battle of Italy and Portugal.

Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern are two of the favourites to go all the way and as is the case with Liverpool and Real Madrid, they stand in each other’s way. Neymar, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe are surely good enough to clinch silverware on their own, but Julian Nagelsmann boasts a ridiculous roster of his own in Bavaria. Englishman-turned-German Jamal Musiala is their young star who is well worth a watch whilst Christophe Galtier‘s credentials at the highest level will be firmly under the microscope.
