Fulham Offer Lifeline to Former Tottenham Loanee

Former Tottenham loanee

Going right down to the wire is the bread of the butter of transfer deadline day. Fulham are doing exactly that this year and they have got their man, well one of them, just in time. Former Tottenham loanee Carlos Vinicius has arrived at Craven Cottage on a permanent deal.

The Cottagers Trying to Do It Right This Time

Ben Brereton Diaz was the name on everyone’s lips regarding a possible move to Fulham. The Blackburn Rovers striker was heavily linked with a move to West Ham United earlier on this year. Come summer though and the Irons weren’t in for him because they went for Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca instead. Everton joined the race alongside Fulham for the Chilean, but neither landed him.

Fulham eventually turned their attentions elsewhere and this time around, they landed the player. Former Tottenham loanee Carlos Vinicius is the player in question and he makes a move to English shores permanently now. Both the club and the player need to have somewhat of a redemption arc, and they could well do this together.

The Cottagers have previously struggled in transfer windows and then gone on to face relegation. So far, they look like they won’t even be glancing back over their shoulders though. On a similar line, Vinicius failed to impress at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. It wasn’t exactly a shock to see him provide support for Harry Kane and Son Heung-min but, even with Aleksandar Mitrovic as the main man, the Brazilian should get more of a chance to play now.

About the Former Tottenham Loanee

Vinicius had bounced around various clubs before finding his feet with Benfica in Portugal. After performing well in front of goal for a few years, Spurs came calling. We have seen the likes of Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente occupy a similar role and this is another former Tottenham loanee who was up against it from the start in North London.

Since then, he went back out on loan with the Netherlands his destination this time. The 27-year-old netted six times in 23 league appearances for PSV Eindhoven, which isn’t exactly numbers that jump off of the page. Mitrovic is something special and so Marco Silva need him to continue firing, with Vinicius for £4.25 million being an interesting pick-up indeed.
