Dubravka is just one of the Manchester United transfers

After a busy transfer window across the Premier League, deadline day is finally here. Learn more about what Manchester United transfers could look like on deadline day and how some of their key moves are progressing.

Expected Manchester United Transfers on Deadline Day

Manchester United’s Business So Far

The Red Devils’ business to date has been relatively scattershot. The club bought Casemiro in what seemed to be a panic signing after losing the first two matches of the season, and fellow Brazilian Antony joined the club to play in a wide role.

You can summarise the business so far as relatively panicked, with United firefighting and responding to issues as they arise. Some of the deals they made prior to the start of the season included Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia, all chosen to suit Erik ten Hag’s style of play.

What do Manchester United Have Left to Do?

There are a few potential moves left for the Old Trafford side, with the club chasing Frenkie De Jong throughout the duration of the window. Whilst the player wants to stay at Barcelona, the financial insecurity at the Nou Camp could present an opportunity for Manchester United to add quality and depth in midfield. Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano revealed in a YouTube video earlier on Wednesday that the deal can happen, but only if De Jong tells his agents that he wants to leave Barcelona.

Carrington also expects to welcome Martin Dubravka as a new goalkeeper. David de Gea’s struggles in goal mean that a strong backup is a necessity, and the ex-Newcastle United number one could push the Spaniard to new levels.

How Have Manchester United Been Performing?

The performances, both at Old Trafford and on the road, have been an incredibly mixed bag. United lost the first two matches of the season, with Brentford embarrassing the Northern side. Some of the more recent purchases that the club has made start to resolve these issues, but there is still work to be done on deadline day to get this Manchester United side firing.
