Memphis Depay

According to Romano, the Dutch attacker “has agreed a contract termination with Barcelona since Saturday”. Interestingly, the termination only comes into effect once the player agrees to join a new club.

Out of Plans

The former Manchester United man made the move to the Catalan giants just last summer from Lyon. He had an impressive season in Spain, notching 13 goals in 38 appearances, 12 of which came in the domestic league. Despite having a good year with the club, the 28-year-old is not a part of Xavi’s plans and is being moved on this summer.

While his time at Old Trafford didn’t pan out the way many hoped, the former PSV Eindhoven prospect refound his best form following a move to Lyon and would be a major asset to any team.

Where Could Memphis Depay Land?

Italian giants Juventus have been heavily linked with a move for the winger. Following the departures of Alvaro Morata and Paulo Dybala, the team is looking to retool its attacking options around Dusan Vlahovic. Angel Di Maria has already been brought in on a free transfer, and a fellow former Red Devil could be joining him before long.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Bianconeri are set to choose between Depay and Arkadiusz Milik of Marseille. Their decision will be made based on finances as the wage demands of the Dutch veteran may not be as feasible as the cheaper Milik.

If not the Serie A club, then there will no doubt be suitors lined up to pick up the 146-goal man now that he’s available on a free transfer.
