Benjamin Šeško is quite a hot prospect, with multiple clubs, including Chelsea and Liverpool, reportedly pursuing the Slovenian. We are currently in key days surrounding Šeško’s future, with Manchester United leading the race to sign the 19-year-old from Red Bull Salzburg, according to Fabrizio Romano.

‘Many Clubs Are Interested’

Last Sunday, Chelsea had a meeting with Šeško’s agent, as also reported by Fabrizio Romano. However, it’s still Manchester United who are leading the race to sign the Slovenian international.

“Manchester United are leading the race since more than one week back, because they’ve had more than one meeting with the agent of Šeško, so United are really pushing it”, Romano said.

Nevertheless, Šeško and his club, Red Bull Salzburg, are yet to agree on a deal, meaning the transfer battle is still open. There’s also said to be a third club in the race, but it’s unclear which.

Šeško’s Career So Far

Šeško played for several Slovenian clubs in his youth before being signed by Red Bull Salzburg in 2019, aged just 16. Still, he was loaned out before playing any matches. The “attacking monster” was loaned out to fellow Austrian club FC Liefering in the second tier, where he made his senior debut the same year.

The Slovenian’s first season left a lot to be desired when it came to scoring goals. However, it was a valuable learning experience, as he scored 21 goals in 29 league appearances in his second season. Salzburg subsequently brought Šeško back to the club, and that’s where he’s been ever since. It’s doubtful he’ll stay for long, though, given the interest from other clubs.

Additionally, the 19-year-old has already won 13 caps for Slovenia’s senior national team since 2021, scoring two goals.
