Manchester United Hard at Work on Wonderkid Signing; Told £55 Million Offer Will Be Accepted

Benjamin Sesko

Manchester United are working hard on their pursuit of RB Salzburg wonderkid Benjamin Sesko. According to Fabrizio Romano, this is a “really important week” for the deal, with United having direct talks with the player’s agents. They know it will not be an easy transfer to conclude as Salzburg are intent on selling him next summer, rather than the present transfer window, but are still looking for ways to sign Sesko, knowing that a £55 million offer will be accepted.

What Romano Revealed About the Benjamin Sesko to Manchester United Saga

In a video on his YouTube channel, Romano revealed plenty of nuggets on the Benjamin Sesko transfer saga.

“[It’s a] really important week for Sesko, it’s a really, really important week for his decision,” the transfer insider informed his viewers. “Manchester United have made contacts with his agents. Salzburg wanted to sell him next summer, but now they know they’re going to receive proposals [this summer]. ”

Romano was quick to clarify that the Red Devils are not the only side interested in the talented youngster: “But it’s not only Manchester United. Also other clubs…are keeping tabs on Sesko, and are interested in Sesko, and this is why timing will be important for United if they really want to sign Sesko.

“They consider him a top talent but it’s now time to be fast, because…other clubs are interested in Benjamin Sesko”

“My feeling is, this name will be on the news this week with many updates because things are happening”.

United are in a difficult position with regard to their striker options.

Two of the players they had in the position this time last year no longer play for the club, with Mason Greenwood having been suspended and Edinson Cavani having left at the end of his contract.

This just leaves Cristiano Ronaldo and Anthony Martial, but neither is by any means perfect.

Ronaldo wants to leave the club, and has made his feelings clear to Erik ten Hag and the United hierarchy. Meanwhile, Martial has not demonstrated consistently good form since the end of the 2019/20 season, and relying on someone so unpredictable as their main source of goals seems risky for the Red Devils.
