£120k-a-Week ‘Perfect’ Star at Carrington Ahead of Manchester United Transfer

Lisandro Martinez is at Carrington this morning, according to Dan Sheldon of The Athletic. The defender is set to be announced as Manchester United‘s next signing this summer, and is now at the Red Devils’ training ground so that this deal can be finalised.

Martinez, who will reportedly make £120k per week at his new side, isn’t the only new man there, with Christian Eriksen reportedly having arrived with him. Cristiano Ronaldo is also at Carrington today to discuss his future on what is an eventful day for the Manchester side.

Already officially announced are the additions of Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen. Now, though, the Dutch Boss’ third acquisition at the helm of United is set to become official, with Lisandro Martinez, who has been described as “perfect” for the English giants, ready to join.

In terms of outgoings, there has also been plenty of activity already this summer. Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic both departed at the end of their contracts, leaving a gaping hole in the central midfield. United are looking to fill this, with Frenkie de Jong their primary target, but it will not be easy. The others to have left for free alongside the midfield duo are Jesse Lingard, who recently joined Nottingham Forest, Juan Mata, and Edinson Cavani.

The Red Devils have some work to do to replace these vital squad players. Their depth has now been weakened, and with Cristiano Ronaldo considering a departure from the Theatre of Dreams following United’s failure to qualify for the Champions League, their attack looks especially weak.
