Fabrizio Romano Issues Update That Will Frustrate Manchester United Fans

Frenkie de Jong

During an interview with United Stand, Fabrizio Romano spoke on a number of transfer-related topics. One such topic was Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who has been at the centre of a frustrating transfer saga in this summer window.

In a rather frustrating update for Manchester United fans Romano stated that: “Erik ten Hag is waiting for Frenkie de Jong. He is plan A, B and C. There are other targets, but as of now, it’s Frenkie”. This was followed up by a reiteration that De Jong’s desire is to remain at his current club.

Ten Hag’s side has already kitted out for pre-season and they have done so without their top target.

At this stage the question must be asked, is the player even worth all this hassle? Romano himself states outright that the former Ajax man is happy to remain where he is. If Manchester United manage to turn his head, it’s clear that they would be an option B for the player.
