Brentford Boss Gives Eriksen Update

Brentford manager Thomas Frank shares a close relationship with the Danish midfielder, having worked with him across multiple levels in his career. Frank gave an update on his side’s chase for Eriksen, telling AS: “We hope he’ll decide in two weeks – he’ll call me and tell me what he wants to do.”

The Bees are well aware that many ‘bigger clubs‘ are in the race to sign Eriksen. But they are not giving up on their quest to sign the midfielder after having tabled their own offer to his representatives a few weeks ago.

Eriksen got a second lease of life at Brentford, who took the risk of signing him to a six-month contract after no other club wanted to do so following the midfielder’s scary cardiac arrest at Euro 2020.

The 30-year-old midfielder proved to be a revelation for Frank’s side, having five goal contributions (one goal and four assists) in 11 Premier League games and helping them avoid relegation last season.

Manchester United Stay Alive in the Race to Sign Creative Midfielder

While Brentford are trying to do everything possible to ensure Eriksen returns to them, Manchester United have not given up their hopes on the lucrative free agent. The Red Devils have confirmed their intentions to sign the Danish midfielder to his agent and have a pretty solid offer on the table.

Erik ten Hag is keen on signing multiple midfielders in the summer and sees the signing of Eriksen for free as a very good deal. He believes the Danish midfielder can be an ideal fit for his system thanks to his passing ability and thrive under pressure on the ball.

Eriksen is currently on holiday after a gruelling second half of the season with Brentford. He will return in the next few weeks before deciding which club he wants to join. As he nears the later years of his career, the Danish midfielder will look to join a club that can challenge for silverware and fulfil his ambitions.
