Raiola represented the likes of Erling Haaland, Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic – a huge influence on their stellar careers to date – as well as many others.

In a statement, his family stated: “Mino fought until the end with the same strength he put on negotiation tables to defend our players. As usual, Mino made us proud and never realised it.

“Mino touched so many lives through his work and wrote a new chapter in the history of modern football. His presence will forever be missed.

“Mino’s mission of making football a better place for players will continue with the same passion.”

Raiola’s Notorious Career

Mino Raiola is best known as the agent of some of the top football players in the world. Names like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, and Erling Haaland are just some of the names associated with him. Chances are if you’ve heard of a major transfer over the past decade then Mino Raiola’s name was attached as he negotiated top prices for some of the world’s best and most in-demand players. He most notably was the man behind Paul Pogba’s massive switch from Juventus to Manchester United, which was at the time a world record transfer fee for a player, although has since been eclipsed by major transfers like Kylian Mbappe.

His passing is likely to send shockwaves through the footballing world as it potentially leaves a number of in-demand players with a change in representation ahead of the summer transfer window where a number of massive deals are done. How this affects the players under his brand remains to be seen.

Last Word on Sports would like to join the footballing world in sending condolences to the friends, family, and colleagues of one of football’s most recognisable names, Mino Raiola.
