Their chances of qualifying for next season’s competition are strong with the firm grip they hold on first place but it may be time for Adeyemi to move up the ranks.

Borussia Dortmund have all but qualified for Champions League next season. Second in the German Bundesliga, sitting nine points behind Bayern Munich with a game in hand. Unless something disastrous happens, Dortmund should be playing Champions League football next season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the German team are in ongoing talks with Salzburg to sign the 20-year-old. Dortmund are said to have everything set to sign him but still need to secure an agreement with his club. Adeyemi has scored 15 goals in his 21 matches in the Austrian Bundesliga this season, with four from 10 in the Champions League.

RB Leipzig are keeping an eye on the situation, but Dortmund are said to be leading the way. Adeyemi would fit well with the Borussia Dortmund team who are confident of securing his signature in the summer.

The striker would be returning to his native country, Adeyemi scored on his debut for Germany in September 2021. The 20-year-old came on as a substitute and scored in the first minute of injury time. Dortmund need to get the deal over the line, and although nothing could happen until the summer transfer window, both sides will want to have the deal done well before then.

Right now, Adeyemi will be concentrating on games and goals with Red Bull Salzburg and securing qualification to the Champions League next season.
