Manchester United Star Still Contemplating Old Trafford Future

Manchester United

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is yet to make a decision regarding his future at the club. The Frenchman’s current contract runs out in June – leaving him with just four months to sign on the dotted line. As things stand, he is on course to become a free agent in the summer, with a choice to make regarding his next club.

At 28, Pogba will know just how important the next step in his career is. And, for that reason, is taking his time. With the current state that Manchester United are in, too, departures would come as no surprise.

United Uncertainty May Lead to Exit

Right now, being a Manchester United player is like being in No Man’s Land. Fire is coming in all directions, and, it must be said, the selfish decision for many is to just get out of there and save themselves.

There was initial hope that the arrival of Ralf Rangnick would stop the Red Devils’ rot. But that has been far from the case. If anything, Manchester United have regressed under the management of the German.

Where United go from here is anyone’s guess. And, whilst that is still a prominent question on several headlines, Paul Pogba may feel now is the right time to jump ship. On paper, at 28, the midfielder is entering his best years; the years that several previous world class midfielders have stepped up a level or two. Does Pogba want to spend those years fighting for top four and amidst the chaos at Old Trafford? That’s a question only he can answer.

For now, he’ll keep taking his time and assessing what’s best for him. If Pogba is allowed to leave Manchester United for free this summer, however, then he’ll undoubtedly have a long line of clubs waiting to commence negotiations.
