Manchester United to Sell Brazilian Midfielder for More Than €10 Million With Vital Clause in Deal

Brazilian midfielder

The January window may be behind us now, but that doesn’t mean the transfer rumours are going to dry up anytime soon. Teams are signing players on pre-contracts, for example, Niklas Sule from Bayern Munich will join Borussia Dortmund this summer. It is no surprise either, that Manchester United are at the heart of the headlines, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that Brazilian midfielder Andreas Pereira will be leaving on a permanent basis at last.

Flamengo to Splash Out on Brazilian Midfielder Andreas Pereira

Pereira will soon have his Man Utd tenure concluded

Andreas Pereira’s time with Manchester United has been very rocky to say the least. Whilst donning the Red Devils’ jersey, the Brazilian was hardly ever a regular fixture in the starting 11. He may have been contracted there since 2014, but Pereira has only appeared 45 times in his eight years at the Theatre of Dreams. That being said, there were a number of loan spells in this time period.

Granada and Valencia, both of La Liga, were the first two destinations for the Belgian-born midfielder. It was after this that he spent a couple of years at Old Trafford, fighting for a place in the plans of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Neither of the aforementioned loans were wholly successful but alongside the likes of Luis Alberto and Ciro Immobile, Pereira showed promise whilst playing for Lazio in Italy last year.

Flamengo to sign the midfielder permanently

Pereira’s latest loan move saw him join Flamengo in his native Brazil.

He may be well-known across the world for an infamous mistake against Palmeiras in the Copa Libertadores final. This led directly to a goal and cost Flamengo and was quickly published all over social media. That one moment isn’t representative of his time with the Brazilian giants though and the reports point towards him succeeding there.

After the initial €1 million loan fee taking Pereira to Flamengo, the Serie A side are set to spend big on a permanent move for him. It is reported that the Manchester side will accrue around €10 million for the sale of the Brazilian, while the deal will also include a vital 25% sell-on clause, which could prove very useful indeed for United should Pereira end up fulfilling his potential in his homeland.
