Newcastle United Complete Dan Burn Signing

Dan Burn

Leaving it late to perhaps round off what has been the busiest of January transfer windows for Newcastle United, Dan Burn has completed a move from Brighton & Hove Albion. The towering defender has signed a two-and-a-half year deal at St James’ Park.

Dan Burn Completes Newcastle United Move

What Was Said?

After putting pen to paper on the contract, Burn told the official Newcastle website: “I’m buzzing to be here. I never thought I’d be in this position so to be a Newcastle player and to be around St. James’ Park, it’s something I’ve dreamt of since I was a kid.

“I can’t wait to step out in the shirt and to see what it feels like. From sitting in the East Stand as a kid to now, it’s crazy. I’m excited to get started.”

Eddie Howe said: “I’m delighted to bring Dan back to the North East. He knows exactly what it means to represent this club and he will be a big presence for us on and off the pitch.

“We have been very keen to add competition defensively and Dan fits the profile we have been looking for. He is naturally left-footed, which provides further balance to our backline, and he will be a great addition to the group.”

Having been released by Newcastle at a young age, Dan Burn will be incredibly proud to have made the move. After coming full circle, the defender will hope to kick on and play a pivotal part in Newcastle’s bid for survival.

Eddie Howe has been more than backed this month, and has no excuses regarding achieving survival. Throughout the rest of the season, the Newcastle manager will hope to see his players fit seamlessly into his system, and, as a result, achieve as much success together as possible.
