Arthur Melo Arsenal Transfer Would Require Key Player to Move in Opposite Direction

Any Arthur Melo Arsenal deal would revolve around vital midfielder Thomas Partey moving in the opposite direction, according to The Guardian.

Arthur Melo Arsenal Move Revolves Around Thomas Partey

Unlikely That Arsenal Will Accept Partey Involvement

Arsenal have finally found some form this season, and Thomas Partey has played a massive part in that.

His defensive abilities in midfield coupled with his technical skill when on the ball have made him a crucial player in Mikel Arteta’s side, and the Arsenal boss will not be keen to lose the Ghana international any time soon.

In particular, the Arsenal man impressed during his team’s valiant defeat at the hands of Manchester City on New Year’s Day, being seemingly everywhere on the pitch at the same time.

Arthur Melo could come into the Gunners’ squad and partner Partey very nicely in central midfield, but it is highly unlikely that the London side will be willing to sacrifice one of their star players in order to secure the services of someone relatively similar.

Arsenal Still Working and Keen to Find Solution

The Gunners are still working hard to find an agreement with Juventus. Arthur Melo has evidently impressed the scouts and hierarchy at the Emirates, and he could be what Mikel Arteta needs in order to find some more consistent form.

Since a poor loss to an out of form Everton, Arsenal have managed to string together quite the run of results. They have emerged victorious from four of their last five games, with the only defeat in that time frame being to runaway league leaders Manchester City, and this was a match Arsenal felt they did not deserve to lose.

The London side tend to see their form come in spells, both good and bad, but Arteta will hope that he can keep his team playing productive football for the foreseeable future.
