Manchester United prospect Teden Mengi has officially completed a loan move to Birmingham City. What Was Said?

After completing the move, speaking to the club website, Mengi said: “I am delighted to be here. [I am] ready to work hard and kick on for the rest of the season. It was important for me to try and find what was best for me, which is here at Blues and to just kick on and get as many games under my belt and improve as much as I can as a player and as a person.

“As soon as I heard about Blues I was straight on the phone to [Tahith] Chongy and he told me it is great, the lads are great, I am going to enjoy it, everyone is a nice person, so I am just looking forward to it.”

The on-loan Manchester United man will now look to kick on and make an instant impact. With Manchester United in so much disarray defensively this season, too, he may just earn himself an opportunity if the loan moves goes successfully.

At 19, Mengi has it all to play for, and will be aware of just how important it is to get game time – hence the move to Birmingham. Whilst at the Blues, the aim will be to establish himself in the first-team from the off, and the keep his place. Games come thick and fast in England’s second tier, so he shouldn’t struggle for minutes on the pitch. Manchester United will hope to welcome back a much more experienced player next summer.
