The 2022 January transfer window is well and truly underway and rumours are flying about left, right and centre.

Teams are looking to reinforce their squad ahead of a promotion push, sign a key player to fight off relegation or prepare for the future with youthful additions.

Today’s Premier League transfer rumours round-up focuses on who Newcastle United and Leicester City are targetting as well as the possibility of a potential move for Romelu Lukaku.

Premier League Transfer Rumours: Morelos, Ramsay, Lukaku

Newcastle United Line-up ‘Urgent’ Move for Rangers Striker Morelos

Several clubs are keeping an eye on Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos, according to a report by CBS.

The talented striker has been touted as on the cusp of a £20 million move south of Hadrian’s Wall with a number of Premier League clubs said to be interested.

The American news outlet claim that Morelos is an “urgent” target for Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United as he looks to deal with injuries to Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin.

Everton and Leicester City, meanwhile, will provide competition with the Premier League rivals also said to be monitoring the situation.

Leicester City Scout Watches Aberdeen Defender

A Leicester City scout was sent to watch Aberdeen defender Calvin Ramsay, according to Sky Sports (live blog, 17:28).

The 18-year-old is reported to be a transfer target for several European and Premier League sides, including the Foxes, Frankfurt and Bologna.

Sky Sports say that one of Brendan Rodgers’ scouts watched Ramsay on Boxing Day in the Dons’ 2-1 win over Dundee.

The Foxes will be forced to part with a chunk of cash, however, with Aberdeen reported to be seeking a club-record fee – currently £3m – for their talented defender.

Romelu Lukaku Seeking Antonio Conte Reunion at Tottenham

A surprise inclusion in our list of transfer rumours, Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku is reportedly keen on a reunion with Antonio Conte following his Chelsea dispute.

The Belgian international was left out of Chelsea’s squad for the 2-2 draw with Liverpool over the weekend and reports from Gazzetta dello Sport claim he could force his way out of Stamford Bridge.

It is claimed that Lukaku could attempt to line up with Antonio Conte once again having enjoyed domestic success under the Italian with Inter Milan last season.

Lukaku won the Serie A title under Conte’s guidance last term.
