Troyes Preparing Move for Manchester City’s Patrick Roberts

There have been a multitude of sides all eager to bring in Patrick Roberts this summer but it looks like Troyes could be the one to complete a deal for the player, according to Sky Sports.

Patrick Roberts Set to Switch to Troyes

Troyes Could Seal Deal for Patrick Roberts

The 24-year old has played just once for his current club Manchester City over the course of his career and has instead spent most of his career flitting from club to club on various loan deals.

Most recently, he spent some time out at Derby County as they battled at the wrong end of the Championship table. Making 15 appearances for the club, he helped them to stay in the second tier and still managed a goal and an assist despite managing only seven and a half lots of 90 minutes.

There are a number of Championship sides looking to do business again for the player before the window closes but it looks like Troyes could  be leading the race for the player.

Troyes Already Have Link With Manchester City

They have an advantage in the race for the Englishman because of the fact they’re actually a sister club of Manchester City – meaning they already have a link to the Premier League side that could work in their favour.

It’s now looking likely that Roberts could be set to spend a campaign out in France. He is yet to try his luck in the country but has spent time abroad before. As a 21-year old, he featured 19 times during a stint at Girona but managed only six starts for the side.

Now, he could be about to test his luck in a different country again – and he’ll want to make an impact and prove that he can still be a solid addition to any side.

Roberts has struggled to assert himself as a regular at any side due to his various loan stints – but a good run at Troyes could prove he has what it takes now to cut it at a high level on a regular basis.
