Brentford Transfer News – Deadline Day Deals

Brentford Transfer News

Brentford transfer news has been rolling in fast over the last few hours, as is the norm on deadline day, with the club looking at both incomings and outgoings.

Brentford Transfer News Hotting Up on Deadline Day

Reported Pursuit of Vanderson Now Off

The London side were reported to be closing in on 20-year-old right-back Vanderson, who currently plays for Serie A side Gremio. His position is one that the Bees need to fill. However, Brentford correspondent Jay Harris is saying that it is a deal now unlikely to be done before the transfer window closes.

Henrik Dalsgaard left the newly-promoted Premier League side after his contract expired in June and the club have been linked with a move for Vanderson ever since. Gremio are not keen to sell with the player having only signed a new contract at the club in June until 2025 and feeling little pressure to have to cash in.

Halil Dervisoglu to Be Loaned to Galatasaray

Whilst Brentford look to bring players in before the end of the transfer window, they are also sending some players out on loan. One such player is Halil Dervisoglu who looks set to join Galatasaray on a season-long loan deal.

He spent six months with the Turkish giants during the second part of last season, scoring three times and delivering two assists as he helped the club finish in second place.

Dervisoglu’s struggles for game time wouldn’t be getting any easier at Brentford, should he stay, after they signed Yoane Wissa from Lorient in August. The 24-year-old is seen as being a first-choice striker for the club, meaning Dervisoglu’s opportunities will be limited if he remains.

He is still seen as a long-term prospect and therefore Brentford will only allow the player to leave on a temporary basis.

Joel Valencia Turns Down Loan Offer

League One side Crewe Alexandra made a last-ditch attempt to sign Joel Valencia on a six-month loan earlier on deadline day. Both clubs involved were able to agree on the deal, but when it was proposed to Valencia he decided to turn it down.

The Ecuadorian winger will stay in London to fight for his place in the first team.

Loan Opportunities Galore With Tariqe Fosu Set to Leave Temporarily

Yet another loan story involving Brentford, Tariqe Fosu is set to join Swansea City for the next season.

The 25-year-old was one of the first names on Thomas Frank’s team sheet last year, but as the squad improves there is no time for sentimentality. Fosu will be back in the championship at least until the end of this campaign, under new Swansea boss Russell Martin, who joined the Welsh side from MK Dons this summer.
