Highly Rated Talent

Eighteen-year-old Sarr is highly rated in France and Tottenham’s director of football has a reputation for picking up young talent across Europe and looks set to continue the trend in his role at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

Sarr will remain in London following his medical at Spurs Lodge, Tottenham’s Enfield training facility, and be present for the home Premier League game against Watford on Sunday 29 August. He will not, however, play for Nuno Espírito Santo’s side this season, instead opting for game time back on loan at Metz.

Fast Rise

Sarr’s rise to the Premier League has been a fast one, having only joined Metz as a development level player a year ago. He now finds himself in one of football’s biggest leagues at Tottenham.

His ability was quickly spotted by the coaching staff at Metz and he was put into the first team where he scored four goals in 25 games and caught the eye with pacy runs, strength and attacking flair. He has continued in the first team and already played in all three of Metz’s first games in Ligue 1 this season, but is yet to find the net or help his team to three points.

Tottenham will be delighted to capture Sarr and have fended off competition from other clubs who were interested in capturing the young prospect. The hope will be that Sarr continues his development into a top player just in time for the start of next season, when his loan spell at Metz will come to an end.
