Lionel Messi Enters Talks With Paris Saint-Germain

Lionel Messi

According to both Fabrizio Romano and Mohamed Bouhasfi, Lionel Messi is in talks with Paris Saint-Germain. Barcelona confirmed their failure to negotiate a new contract with the Argentine in the biggest news of the summer. Now, the iconic forward has the opportunity to move on and win trophies elsewhere.

Looking at his current options, it seems as though a move to the French capital is the best move on the table. Manchester City have just signed Jack Grealish, handing him the number ten shirt in the process and, therefore, potentially ruling out a move or Messi. Meanwhile, reports have remained silent regarding moves to other Premier League sides.

As for the rest of Europe, it’s hard to find a club that could afford Messi’s wages other than PSG.

Potentially Reunited With Neymar

When together with Neymar at Barcelona, Messi, alongside Luis Suarez, formed arguably the greatest trio in history. To put it simply, they were unstoppable. We’ve all been waiting for them to reunited, whether it be at PSG or Barcelona. And, now, we could be set to see it in France.

If indeed reunited, the pair should propel PSG to Champions League success after years of constant failure. Lionel Messi is due another European honour following years of pain himself, and he and the Frenchmen could solve each other’s biggest problem.

And if they do secure Messi and Mauricio Pochettino does fail to deliver, his job security will undoubtedly plummet. The Argentine has already been questioned by many, and must silence his critics. Whether it is Messi who is brought in to do just that, remains to be seen, however.

One thing that is for sure, is that, wherever the now-former Barcelona man ends up, performances and trophies will sky-rocket.
