Manchester United Injury News: Updates on Victor Lindelof, Anthony Martial, David de Gea and Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba and David de Gea Set to Miss Manchester City Fixture

Paul Pogba is still suffering from a thigh injury sustained during United’s draw with Everton last month. The Frenchman had been in excellent form this season, but an injury has seemingly halted this run. A lot of football has been played since he picked up the injury and he will need to be fully fit before Solskjaer can integrate him into the squad, during an already hectic schedule.

David de Gea will also be unavailable for the short visit to Manchester City at the weekend. The Spaniard was granted leave during the week so that he could attend the birth of his first child in his native Spain.

Manchester United Still Unsure About Anthony Martial Injury

Anthony Martial could also miss Sunday’s clash with their Manchester rivals, having missed out on Wednesday’s trip to Crystal Palace.

The French international has four goals and five assists to his name this season and despite not having his best season, he remains an integral part of Solskjaer’s plans.

Victor Lindelof Expected to Be Available for Manchester Derby

Swedish international Victor Lindelof has had to play a large majority of this season with a back injury. He was an unused substitute in Wednesday’s 0-0 draw in South London but could feature when the top two clash on Sunday, according to Solskjaer: “I’d believe at least victor should be fine. He was on the bench. He was still feeling the effects of his back but hopefully be OK.”

The 26-year-old has played a vital part in United’s season thus far and has made 20 starts for the Manchester club. The central defender has suffered back problems since the turn of the calendar year but has been battling through it for most of the season.
