Burton Albion’s busy transfer window continues with the signing of Peterborough United midfielder Ryan Broom.

Broom arrives on loan from Posh for the rest of the season and continues Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s huge turnover of the Burton squad.

He is the Brewers’ ninth signing in this transfer window as Hasselbaink plots a survival route in League One.

Broom Has Started Just Five League Games for Posh

The talented Welshman only joined Peterborough in the summer after a terrific spell in League Two with Cheltenham Town. However, his time with the League One promotion contenders has seen him make just 15 appearances, starting five games.

Broom has struggled to recapture the form that made him one of the most exciting players in the EFL. He has scored just once this campaign and is yet to register an assist.

A move to Burton offers regular game time and a chance to showcase his qualities. He is the kind of player Burton have been desperate for with the Brewers struggling to create chances and score goals.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has spent the entire transfer window revamping the Burton squad. Several players have left the club and Broom’s arrival takes their new signings to nine.

Broom is their third new face on deadline day with Josh Earl and Terry Taylor signing up for the Hasselbaink revolution. He is plotting a route to safety with Burton needing to start picking up points and fast.

The Brewers head into February seven points behind 20th place Northampton Town. They are fully recovered from their COVID-19 outbreak and are set to return to action.

Broom could make his debut this weekend when Burton welcome Hull City to the Pirelli Stadium- a tough game for Burton but they have to build momentum sooner rather than later.
