Wright Has Been a Regular for Leicester’s U23s

The midfielder has spent his entire career at Leicester, working his way through the academy. This will be his first move away from the King Power Stadium.

He is joining a Cheltenham side pushing for promotion and going well under Michael Duff. The Robins have been looking for new recruits throughout this window and Wright’s arrival compensates for the departure of Tom Sang.

The versatile midfielder can play in a variety of positions and will test himself in League Two. His loan move offers a great chance to enhance his football education and get some first-team minutes under his belt.

Speaking to the Cheltenham website about his move, Wright said: “It’s the next step I need to take and I thought Cheltenham was the perfect place to come in with the style of play and the system that they have.

“As soon as the interest came in from Cheltenham I did my own research. I watched games back and made sure I knew where I was coming because it is a massive stage in my career to try and kick on.”

As Well as Announcing Callum Wright, Cheltenham Have Confirmed Positive Coronavirus Cases at the Club

There was disappointing news to greet the signing of Wright as Cheltenham confirmed positive coronavirus cases following the latest round of testing.

Their next two leagues against Barrow and Carlisle United have been suspended as the players and staff enter the mandatory period of self-isolation.
