What Was Said?

Speaking about Morris’ arrival, Northampton boss Keith Curle said: “Bryn is a player I have known about for a long time.

“When he was at Middlesbrough and I was at Carlisle, I tried to sign him and I have followed his progress closely since.

“He is an all round midfield player. He can win the ball, recycle possession, he can play a pass and he can open teams up.

“He is only 24 but he has good League 1 experience and a good League 1 pedigree, having played in the League 1 play offs twice in the last three seasons.

“I think he will benefit from the move as will we. I am pleased to welcome him to the club.”

Morris will not be able to feature in tomorrow’s match at Blackpool as he was signed after the noon deadline.

However, he could be in line to make his debut this Saturday away at League One leaders Lincoln City.

Morris’ Career

Morris started his career at Middlesbrough after coming through their youth academy, but spent most of his senior time at Boro on loan, playing for the likes of Burton Albion, Coventry City, York City and Walsall.

He completed a permanent move to Shrewsbury Town in 2017 where he made a name for himself during Shrewsbury’s excellent 2017/18 play-off campaign.

The midfielder spent the next season on loan at Wycombe Wanderers before signing a permanent deal with Portsmouth in 2019.

Overall, he struggled for minutes with Pompey, playing only 28 times, 18 of which have come this season.
