Leicester City Forward Replaces Moussa Dembele

Olympique Lyonnais have already identified their replacement for Atletico Madrid bound Moussa Dembele with out-of-favour Leicester City forward Islam Slimani set to move to Les Gones. According to the report, the transfer is set to be finalised in the coming hours.

The Algerian has struggled to adapt to the Premier League since his move following his move from Sporting CP in 2016. Apart from his first season, Slimani has not scored more than one Premier League goal in a season for the Foxes. The Algerian has spent most of his time on loan. In four-and-a-half seasons, Slimani has had three different loan spells. In fact, since his move in 2016, Slimani has managed 48 appearances and 13 goals.

The Algerian, though, had an impressive loan spell at AS Monaco last season. Slimani scored nine goals and made seven assists in 19 matches for the French side. The forward had the second-highest assist tally in Ligue 1 and finished as Monaco’s second-highest goalscorer.

The move appears to provide a win-win situation for both parties involved. Lyon will replace their out-of-form striker with one of the best players in the league last season. While Dembele will get the chance to play alongside one of the greatest strikers of this decade in Luis Suarez.

Dembele Inches Closer to Atletico Madrid

Moussa Dembele is inching closer and closer to becoming an Atletico Madrid player. Rojiblancos manager Diego Simeone also updated about the 24-year-old rumours, with the Argentine confirming about Atletico Madrid having discussions about signing the striker. The French striker will act as a back-up to Luis Suarez.
