Patrick Cutrone Returns to Ease Wolves Injury Crisis

The 23-year-old striker is likely to be thrown straight back into action with Wolves taking on Crystal Palace in the FA Cup on Friday.

Cutrone made 11 Serie A appearances from the bench but didn’t score in any of his cameos.

He returns to Wolves to help bolster their squad.

Fabio Silva, on loan from Porto, has been leading the line for Wolves.

The West Midlands club did not have another senior centre-forward available until Cutrone’s return.

Cutrone first joined Wolves in 2019 from AC Milan. Since he has scored three and assisted four in 24 total appearances.

Wolves Injury News

Wolves provided an update on their extensive injury list.

Raul Jimenez is still recovering following his fractured skull. The current news is that he is “doing some early fitness work, but still has a way to go, however things are going well.”

Portuguese winger Daniel Podence is out with a calf injury for a ‘few weeks’. This came after the Manchester United game. He has scored three and assisted another in his 15 Premier League appearances.

Renat Dadashov is still recovering from an anterior cruciate injury that he sustained in September. The 21-year-old centre forward’s surgery was successful but he is still recovering.

Jonny Otto is “making great progress working outside”. The left-back had surgery for his knee injury five months ago, and Wolves are hoping to get him back into team training ‘soon’.

Defensive midfielder Leander Dendoncker suffered a bone bruise on his knee whilst playing for Belgium. He is back in training, after receiving some treatment.

Centre-back Willy Boly has a hamstring injury, but is looking to return to ‘outdoor training this week’.

Finally, Marcal has a groin injury after playing against Tottenham Hotspur. He will not be returning to training yet.
