Quick Tips

With teams having to play twice in two-three days, rotation is inevitable. However, we cannot predict the fitness conditions of the players so the best thing to do would be to have some options on the bench and not try to second guess the managers.

Goalkeepers

Emiliano Martínez has kept four clean sheets in a row. The Argentine has been an absolutely brilliant signing for Aston Villa this season. If you have him, just keep him for the season. He could even keep a clean sheet at Chelsea.

Nick Pope has a great fixture this week against rock bottom Sheffield United. This could be a dour match but a clean sheet is possible for Burnley.

Alex McCarthy and Illan Meslier are also decent picks this week.

Defenders

Burnley defenders look great for this week. They also play Fulham next week. So, the likes of Charlie Taylor and Matthew Lowton should definitely be considered.

Jan Bednarek and Kyle Walker-Peters are also decent options against West Ham United.

One could consider the Tottenham Hotspur defenders as well. They have back to back home games against Fulham and  Leeds United coming up. Eric Dier is probably the most nailed-on starter although Sergio Reguilón is probably the most exciting of the backline.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson both blanked last gameweek. They will be looking to bounce back against  Newcastle United on Wednesday night.

Midfielders

After dropping two precious points at home, Liverpool will be looking to bounce back this midweek. Mohamed Salah and  Sadio Mané will probably have to deliver the goals.  Newcastle United are not doing well but could provide a lot of resistance.

Son Heung-min has failed to score in the last couple of matches. Spurs will need the South Korean to get back to form if they are to win against an improving Fulham side. The Cottagers are unbeaten in four.

Chelsea vs Aston Villa should be a very interesting fixture. Frank Lampard was unhappy with his players after the defeat to Arsenal on Saturday. Callum Hudson-Odoi could come into the side to add some much-needed impetus going forward. Jack Grealish could trouble the Chelsea backline whereas Anwar El Ghazi is in superb form with a stunning 25 FPL points in the last two gameweeks.

Bukayo Saka is perhaps the best hope for  Arsenal this season in their quest to get back to the top half. The youngster played brilliantly against Chelsea and could do well this week against  Brighton & Hove Albion. Gabriel Martinelli’s return has also helped the struggling Gunners.  Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang might return which will provide them with a huge boost.

Bruno Fernandes has a tough fixture this midweek but he can do well in any game. The Portugal international will be right at home playing against so many of his fellow countrymen at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Strikers

Harry Kane hasn’t scored in three matches. He will be fired up to break that run and get back to scoring goals this week. Fulham might have improved but if Kane is on his game, it’s very difficult to stop him.

Che Adams and Chris Wood should both get chances to score this week. Burnley will be desperate for the three points against Sheffield United. It could be a scrappy encounter but Wood might get the chance to score one or two. Southampton will fancy themselves to beat West Ham United and Che Adams is their main man in the absence of Danny Ings.

With Timo Werner desperately out of form, Chelsea will be hoping Tammy Abraham can continue scoring. Aston Villa‘s Ollie Watkins is also struggling in front of goal. However, he is getting a lot of chances to score and might just put one or two in.

Patrick Bamford has now scored ten premier league goals this season. He will look to add to that tally this week against relegation-threatened  West Bromwich Albion.
