Future Lies With Citizens

Manchester City are close to securing the services of Kevin De Bruyne until 2025, with the midfielder set to sign a new contract according to reports.

The Belgium international’s current contract is set to expire in 2023, but De Bruyne is expected to follow Pep Guardiola in signing a new contract.

Guardiola recently put pen to paper on a new deal with Manchester City, extending his stay until 2023.

According to Romano, De Bruyne is representing himself in negotiations with City and “both parties are confident a deal will be reached soon” after beginning in October.

It is understood the midfielder is currently on a deal worth £300,00-a-week, including bonuses, and expects a small increase.

A new contract would come as great news to Manchester City chiefs with Kevin De Bruyne having reportedly been a target for Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

Manchester City Time Full of Achievements

It is difficult to downplay how successful a time Kevin De Bruyne has had at the Etihad Stadium.

While he may not have recorded achievements on a European level, the midfielder has established himself as one of the best playmakers in the Premier League – and possibly the world.

Since arriving five years ago in 2015, De Bruyne has won two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and four league cups.

Despite a slower start to the league campaign this year, the Belgian has continued to produce a number of stellar performances.

The 29-year-old has made more passes into the penalty area than any other player (39) and has an average of 1.07 goal-creating actions – joint-top with only James Rodriguez of Everton.
