Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 13 Picks

Quick Tips

With matches coming thick and fast, managers will have to rotate their squads. Having a few decent options on your bench will definitely help. Some teams will play after a rest of only two days so you should prepare for the possibility of your star players getting rested.

Goalkeepers

Emiliano Martínez proved why he is the most popular goalkeeper pick this season with a brilliant haul of 11 points on Gameweek 12. On paper, Burnley at home looks easier than Wolverhampton Wanderers away but that may not be the case in the end. Regardless, Martinez remains the best long-term pick this season. Although, you can make a case for Lukasz Fabianski who is the highest-scoring goalkeeper at the moment, while Edouard Mendy remains a good pick too.

_Ederson_ has picked up three clean sheets in a row and has the possibility to add to that this week against West Bromwich Albion. Alex McCarthy could also get a clean sheet at struggling Arsenal as well.

Defenders

A clean sheet is likely for Manchester City. However, who will start at the back for them is a mystery.  Benjamin Mendy might be the one to shine as he did not see action on Saturday.

With Arsenal struggling badly, FPL owners of Jannik Vestergaard could profit handsomely. The big Danish defender has already scored three goals this season and is quite imposing on set pieces.

Aaron Cresswell is a decent pick on most weeks as he is on set pieces. However, Crystal Palace are a dangerous side so a clean sheet might be tough.

Holders of Kurt Zouma, Ben Chilwell and/or Reece James will be hoping for a clean sheet at Wolves. The West Midlands side have failed to score in the last two matches.

Manchester United defenders should be confident about keeping a clean sheet at rock bottom Sheffield United. However, as long-term picks, none of them seem worthwhile options.

Tariq Lamptey missed the last game with a hamstring issue. He could do well if he is fit to start against Fulham.

Midfielders

Manchester City have the best fixture on paper this week. However, they have a rather quick turnaround this round after the Manchester derby on Saturday. Pep Guardiola loves to rotate and might do so for this fixture. Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling are both fantastic options but will they both start? The likes of Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden, Ilkay Gündogan and Ferran Torres are all likely options to come in this week. Riyad Mahrez looks set to be benched as he has started the last three matches.

Mohamed Salah‘s record at Anfield is simply astonishing. This season, he has scored five goals at home already. His record against Tottenham Hotspur is also very good with seven goals in 12 and three in the last three home games.

Bruno Fernandes has an amazing away record in the Premier League. The Portuguese will be at Sheffield United this week where Manchester United will be huge favorites, and Bruno is definitely a strong candidate for the armband.

James Ward-Prowse, _Raphinha_, Jack Grealish, Mason Mount, Wilfried Zaha, Ademola Lookman and James Maddison also could do well this week. Eberechi Eze could be a nice differential as well. The youngster seems to have nailed down a starting spot and has been performing quite well.

Strikers

Gabriel Jesus has frustrated in recent weeks with no goals in his last four matches. He might be dropped if Sergio Agüero recovers from illness or Ferran Torres starts upfront.

Jamie Vardy has scored two games in a row now and could continue that trend this week against Everton. The Toffees won in the last round but they are poor travellers and could struggle.

Patrick Bamford has a nice home fixture so should get some points. However, Leeds United have a terrible home record and might struggle to break Newcastle United down.
