Neymar has told French media that the prospect of leaving champions Paris Saint-Germain has not crossed his mind, and has instead opened the door to the possibility of signing a new contract at the Parc des Princes.
The Brazilian forward was speaking after scoring a hattrick in his side’s 5-1 victory over Turkish champions Instanbul Basaksehir – a result that guaranteed top spot in Champions League group H.

28-year-old Neymar, who joined PSG from Barcelona for a world record £200 million in 2017, has been frequently linked with a move away from France’s Ligue 1 in recent seasons.
However, the forward currently appears as happy as he has ever been in the French capital, and has quashed any talk of an exit with the January transfer window just around the corner.
“I am very happy here in Paris”, the Brazilian told RMC Sport. “I am very happy at the club, with my team-mates. The idea of leaving never crossed my mind. We need to talk [about a new contract]. We have a really good relationship; I am very fortunate. Let’s see what will happen in the future.”
PSG Also Confident of New Mbappé Contract
Rumours have recently circulated linking Barcelona’s Lionel Messi with a move to PSG. Neymar himself has said that what he wants “most of all” is to link up with the Argentine again on the pitch, suggesting that Messi should join him in Paris next season.
It was thought that PSG would have to sell 21-year-old forward Kylian Mbappé in order to finance any transfer for Messi, who is free to negotiate with foreign clubs from January onwards as his Barcelona contract nears its expiry.
It has since emerged however that the French club’s president Nasser al-Khelaifi is “very confident” that both Mbappé and Neymar will sign new contracts in Paris.
“We have started discussions with Neymar and Kylian”, the Qatari businessman told RMC Sport. “The discussions will stay confidential but I am very confident. They both want to stay with us.”
