Quick Tips

The classic FPL debate about form versus fixtures is raging once again this week. Son Heung-min and Harry Kane are in form but face tough fixtures, whereas Manchester City and Leicester City assets have the easy-looking fixtures. Mohamed Salah is fit again as well. One cannot afford to have every premium FPL asset so decisions have to be made this week on who to back. Once again the best thing to do would be to wait till Friday before making those crucial decisions as there are midweek matches. Besides, any player could catch COVID-19 anytime.

Goalkeepers

In terms of fixtures, Ederson, Alisson, Sam Johnstone, Vicente Guaita, Aaron Ramsdale and Kasper Schmeichel look to have good opportunities of keeping a clean sheet. Interestingly, Guaita has kept only one clean sheet so far this season and that too came on gameweek one.

Emiliano Martínez has kept a clean sheet in each of his three matches away from home so far. Will he be able to continue the trend this week at West Ham United?

Edouard Mendy and Chelsea will face their toughest test in a while as they host high-flying  Tottenham Hotspur.

Defenders

João Cancelo has been very impressive for Manchester City this season. Interestingly, he does not play like a regular full-back. Despite that, the Portuguese has only managed one assist so far this season. It could change this week against Burnley against whom Manchester City have scored 23 goals in the last six matches in all competitions.

Andrew Robertson rewarded his FPL owners with 12 points last week. He could do well this week also against a Brighton & Hove Albion side missing Tariq Lamptey.

Lucas Digne provided two assists last week for Everton. Leeds United are a tricky side to play against but they do give away chances so the French full-back could profit offensively.

Timothy Castagne could be a good option if fit as well. However, his match sharpness has not been proven yet.

Midfielders

Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez, Ferran Torres and Phil Foden all could do well this week. Picking the right one will be tough. Also, Manchester City’s lacklustre showings in front of goal will worry FPL managers. However, Guardiola’s side could click into gear any time and hit some team hard. Could that be the clarets this week? De Bruyne seems to be the best bet as he has been rested for the Champions League match.

The King of FPL, Mohamed Salah is back. The Egyptian is likely to start and he could wreak havoc against Brighton. His return will help Sadio Mané, also.

James Maddison could be a differential this week. He seems to be back to full match sharpness now and Fulham are the ideal opponents for him to score some points. Harvey Barnes is also a good option.

Bruno Fernandes has a great record away from home. Southampton are doing well this season but Manchester United have the tools to get the points from this match. The Portuguese will fancy scoring some FPL points against the high line of Southampton.

Strikers

Jamie Vardy will relish playing against Fulham who seem to gift goals away on most weeks. Vardy is someone who thrives on profiting from any mistake a defender makes so he could be lethal against Fulham.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is in the form of his life. Leeds United have conceded a lot of goals this season so Everton will fancy scoring some goals in this match. Richarlison is also worth consideration. On the other hand, Patrick Bamford should do well too.

Sergio Agüero and Gabriel Jesus are both available which makes it tough to predict who will start between them. With so many great striker options available this season, it is probably best to avoid them.
