Dutch international Justin Kluivert has joined RB Leipzig on loan with an option to buy from Roma. The loan deal was confirmed by Leipzig on Monday. This move comes after it was reported by Fabirizo Romano that Hertha Berlin were also interested in acquiring the 21-year-old winger. Kluivert leaves Roma having joined the Serie A club during the summer transfer window in 2018.

The Latest Signing for Leipzig

Leipzig have been focused on bringing in attacking players during this transfer window. They signed Alexander Sorloth and Hee-chan Hwang recently as they look to move forward after the departure of Timo Werner to Chelsea. Kluivert becomes the latest attacking player to be acquired.

The Bundesliga club were one of the best clubs when it came to goal scoring last season, with 81 goals in 34 league fixtures. They currently sit atop the table in the German top-flight entering the October international break and appear to be ready to contend for the title again this season. Kluivert certainly improves the attacking talent Leipzig will have on display.

Kluivert Can Be Impactful

At just 21, Kluivert is still in the early stages of his career. For this reason, his best years are still to come. For Leipzig, this should be a very exciting prospect for them. Kluivert could thrive in a league that features an attack-minded style of play. He was unable to replicate his production at Roma that he displayed at Ajax but there’s reason to believe he can be impactful at Leipzig. Kluivert remains a player who has tremendous potential and Leipzig promises to be the perfect destination for the winger.

The Dutch international is joining a club that already possesses plenty of young attacking talent. He will be playing alongside players such as Dani Olmo. Playing alongside these players might give Leipzig one of the best young attacking units in Europe.
