REPORT: Hoffenheim Agree Ryan Sessegnon Loan Deal

Sessegnon

Hoffenheim have reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur to sign Ryan Sessegnon on a season-long loan deal, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic. The medical is expected to take place tomorrow morning when the deal will also be completed.

Hoffenheim Agree Sessesgnon Loan Deal

Much Needed Move for Sessegnon

Since joining Spurs from Fulham in 2019, Sessegnon has failed to break into the first team on a regular basis, often forced to watch on from the bench. Under Jose Mourinho, especially, opportunities have been limited and, his development has therefore been affected.

The reported loan move to Hoffenheim should work wonders for Sessengnon’s progression as he gets the game time he so desperately needs. The young fullback will follow in the footsteps of the likes of Jadon Sancho, Reiss Nelson and Ademola Lookman if he completes a move to the Bundesliga.

Sessegnon will particularly be looking to replicate Jadon Sancho’s rise in Germany who swapped Manchester City for Borussia Dortmund before going onto becoming a star. Spurs, too, will be desperate to see a similar rise with Sessesgnon returning at the end of the season.

Should the reported loan move result in Sessegnon development, Spurs may have themselves one of the best young players in the country.

Hoffenheim Aiming for European Qualification

After finishing 6th last season, Hoffenheim will be looking for further improvement this time around. Breaking into the top five would result in another season of Europen qualification. The dream will be the top four, but top six is the reality for an ever-improving Hoffenheim side.

With the Sessegnon deal reportedly agreed, too, the German club will have themselves a squad capable of reaching new heights in the Bundesliga this season. The young Englishman should slot straight into the side with his versatility the key to earning the much-needed game time in Germany.
