Brighton & Hove Albion Confirm Signings of Attacking Duo Reda Khadra and Andi Zeqiri

Reda Khadra

Brighton & Hove Albion have confirmed the arrival of attacking duo Reda Khadra and Andi Zeqiri. The former is expected to join up with the U23s, with Zeqiri set to challenge the club’s current striking options.

Khadra joins the Seagulls from Borussia Dortmund for an undisclosed fee whilst Zeqiri signs from Swiss Super League side Laussane-Sport on a deal that keeps his at the Amex until 2024.

In a season where the Seagulls created numerous goalscoring opportunities, 39 goals would not have been deemed good enough by Graham Potter. The competition for attacking positions in Brighton’s line-up could materialise into more goals. Something that Potter will be extremely hopeful of.

New Signings Reda Khadra and Andi Zeqiri Expected to Increase Competition Levels Amongst Brighton Squad

Reda Khadra Will Continue Progression with U23s

The 19-year-old will join the club’s U23s side, but certainly has the talent to be knocking on the first-team door. Khadra has been capped by Germany at U18 level and made 24 appearances for Borussia Dortmund’s U19 side last season, scoring two goals.

Brighton’s U23s manager Simon Rusk told the club website: “We are delighted to welcome Reda to the club. He offers a lot of attributes as a player and can play in midfield or in an attacking role.

“He is very excited to come to England and progress his career and we look forward to working with him.”

Andi Zeqiri to Provide Immediate Competition

Despite only being 21-years-old , Zeqiri has gained some invaluable experience Switzerland and Italy. Additionally, the forward has represented Switzerland from U16s to U21s.

Following Zeqiri’s arrival, Graham Potter said: “We are delighted to welcome Andi to the club. He’s a player we have been aware of for some time; we know his qualities and what he can bring to us.

“He is an exciting young talent and will add to our attacking options.”
