Fulham have confirmed that they have signed former Everton winger Ademola Lookman on loan from RB Leipzig.

Chance for Regular Opportunities

A move to Craven Cottage offers Lookman the chance for regular first-team opportunities, something of which he is yet to receive at Leipzig.

The 22-year-old made the move to Germany following a successful loan with Leipzig during the 2017/18 season. During that period he scored five goals and registered three assists in 11 appearances.

He then returned to Everton the following season, but could not replicate that form he showed with the German side.

As a result, he returned to Leipzig on a permanent deal last season.

However, he returned to the Red Bull Arena under a new manager, and was not given the same opportunities in comparison to his loan spell. Julian Nagelsmann used Lookman just 13 times last season, and the 22-year-old winger could not register a goal or assist.

With this season seemingly heading in the same direction for the former Everton winger and Leipzig, Lookman returns to England in search of regular game time.

What Was Said?

Speaking to the official Fulham website, Lookman said: “I’m glad to have it over the line and done now. I’m glad I can be here to help the team.

“After the conversations I had with Scott Parker, I got a great feeling, that’s the working relationship I want to have. He’s young and hungry and I’m young and hungry as well so it’s a good match.”

Tony Khan, Fulham chairman, said: “I’m excited to announce the arrival of Ademola Lookman to Fulham Football Club on loan from RB Leipzig.

“Ademola, in his young career, has gained experience in the Premier League and Bundesliga and contributed in England’s 2017 Under-20 World Cup win, and we believe that he’s a very good addition to our squad.”
