Manchester United Hold Talks With Edinson Cavani

Anthony Martial Impact
The Uruguayan international is without a club after leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season. That saw a seven-year association with the Ligue 1 champions come to an end. He scored 200 goals in 301 appearances across all competitions for the French giants.
Since the departure of Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan, Anthony Martial has been the main striker for the Red Devils. Martial enjoyed his best-ever goalscoring total last season, with 23 goals. Though, he is yet to score in his two appearances this season so far.
The addition of a new central striker could see manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revert to using Anthony Martial out wide.
Many teams across Europe have been credit with an interest in the Uruguayan striker. Cavani had earlier been reported to be close to joining Benfica, but that move broke down for some reason or another. French outlet L’Equipe (via GFFN) reported that Atletico Madrid were to move for Cavani, however that report also claimed, should they sign his Uuruguayan compatriot Luis Suarez, they will not be pursuing Cavani further, and they have now signed Luis Suarez from Barcelona.
What Next for Odion Ighalo?
With the news that United are in talks to add Cavani to their attack, it seems Odion Ighalo’s limited time at United could soon be coming to an end. He was brought in on loan late in the January transfer window and is set to return to parent club Shanghai Shenhua in January after United had agreed to extend his loan by six months.
Other Options for United
Di Marzio reported that discussions had also taken place with Real Madrid over the loan signing of Serbian forward Luka Jovic, who has failed to make an impact at the Bernabeu since signing from Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt last summer.
