Queens Park Ranger winger Bright Osayi-Samuel has been stalling a new contract with the Hoops. According to Sky Sports, he is waiting for Crystal Palace to make an offer for him.

QPR are wanting the 22-year-old to sign a new and improved deal with the club in an attempt to stop him from leaving for the Premier League. The Hoops have already lost playmaker Eberechi Eze to the Eagles, and will not want another creative spark in Osayi-Samuel to follow suit.

Bright Osayi-Samuel Awaiting Crystal Palace Offer

Impressive Season for the Hoops

The wide man enjoyed his most successful season with the Hoops in the 2019/20 campaign. He spent most of the season on the right-wing, but also operated on the left-side when called upon.

In 40 appearances last season for the R’s, he managed to score six goals and provide nine assists. Only new Crystal Palace signing Eze was involved in more goals than the 22-year-old in the 2019/20 campaign.

Bids Coming in With Time Running Out

With only a year left on his contract, QPR are afraid of losing Osayi-Samuel for nothing. Given his contract situation and the potential bargain, Osayi-Samuel is in demand. Palace have reportedly been watching the 22-year-old for over a year, but the Hoops are yet to receive an official bid from them.

The winger has also been subject to interest elsewhere. Crystal Palace’s Premier League counterparts Burnley had also shown interest in the early stages of the transfer window. However, it was Belgian side Club Brugge who have gone the closest in securing his signature. The Belgian Champions submitted two bids for the winger, with the second one being accepted by the Hoops. However, the 22-year-old turned down the offer himself.

Where Would Osayi-Samuel Fit in at Palace?

Osayi-Samuel is a winger who can be deployed on both flanks. With on-going speculation about Wilfried Zaha’s future at the club, a young, exciting prospect like Osayi-Samuel could be seen as a direct replacement.

On the right-hand side, Osayi-Samuel would give Andros Townsend some serious competition. The raw power and pace of the 22-year-old would give Roy Hodgson an alternative option to Townsend.
