David Moyes Looking to Strengthen the West Ham Defence

Defenders are on the top of the priority list for David Moyes. West Ham’s defensive issues were a major concern all season for the East London side. They were one of the six teams to concede more than 60 goals in the league season.

A lack of funds at the start of the transfer window had seen the Hammers keep relatively quiet. Following the sales of Jordan Hugill, Albian Ajeti, and the controversial sale of Grady Diangana, the Hammers have re-focused their attention back to adding defensive signings.

Will Burnley Sell Tarkowski?

James Tarkowski has been a part of Burnely defence since their Championship days. After being a bit-part player in his first two seasons, the defender became a regular starter following the sale of Michael Keane to Everton.

His central defensive partnership with Ben Mee has been one of the foundations of Burnley’s impressive solidity.

The Covid-19 pandemic, though, has made a huge dent in the finances for many sides including Burnley this season. If a high-enough bid is made for the 27-year-old, they are could sanction the deal.

Norwich City Confirm Ben Gibson Loan

The Canaries have confirmed the signing of Ben Gibson on loan from Burnley. The former Middlesborough captain has struggled to adjust to rediscover his form since moving Turf Moore in 2018. The defender made just six appearances in all competitions since completing his move to Burnley.

With Gibson gone, Burnley will be even more desperate to keep hold of Tarkowski ahead of the new Premier Legaue campaign.
