Players Returned From the Holiday

The three players had all recently returned from their holidays in Ibiza.

Spain has recently seen a steep rise in Coronavirus cases. After a fall that saw record cases fall to as low as 167 on June 8, there has been a gradual rise again; September 1 saw 8,115 cases recorded in the entire country.

As a result of those cases, it has recently seen the country placed on a quarantine list again in the United Kingdom.

Guidelines state that the players will now have to self-isolate for 14 days before they are able to resume training with the first-team.

The French champions confirmed that the club will continue tested over the coming days.

It is the latest Coronavirus cases to be confirmed in the French top-flight. 18 of the 20 Ligue 1 clubs have now had a positive case within their squads; only Metz and Reims are yet to have a confirmed case.

Games They Will Miss

PSG were granted an extended break from league action following their hugely impressive run to the Champions League final.

As a result, while the rest of the Ligue 1 has started their season, the defending champions will begin their title defence away to Lens on September 10.

As well as the first game the season, the trio who have tested positive for COVID-19 will also miss the visit of arch rivals Marseille, before Metz visit the Parc des Prince three days later.

The earliest that the could return to action, should they not present further symptoms of the virus, is September 20 when they travel to the French riviera to face Nice.
