World Cup Winner Joins Wycombe

Anderson, a former youth team player at Manchester City, was part of the World Cup-winning England U17 squad and was also a runner-up in the European Championships that year. Anderson started in the World Cup final against Spain.

After leaving Manchester City, Anderson moved to the USA and signed for United Soccer League side Charlotte Independence. After playing ten times, his contract was terminated by mutual consent last year.

Horgan Finally Arrives

Ther arrival of Daryl Horgan has been the most talked-about for Wycombe, with many outlets in Scotland writing on the interest the Chairboys had in the Hibs winger.

The 28-year-old has Championship experience already, having spent 18 months with Preston North End earlier in his career.

Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth told the club website about his arrival: “I’m excited to see what he can do for us and his arrival gives us extra firepower going forward as we look forward to starting on the front foot in the Championship in 10 days’ time.”

Tafazoli the Sixth Addition

The third signing of the day is former Hull centre-back Ryan Tafazoli. He played 19 times for the Tigers having previously made over 130 for Peterborough United in a three-year stint.

Ainsworth said of his arrival: “We’ve come up against Ryan many times down the years and he’s always been a strong, commanding presence in any defence we’ve faced, and also a real threat from our set-pieces with his height and heading ability.”
