REPORT: Sead Kolasinac Linked With a Move Away From Arsenal

Kolasinac

Bosnia and Herzegovina international Sead Kolasinac is reportedly moving out of Arsenal during this summer, according to the Sky Sports. The full-back is attracting interest from  Schalke, with the German side looking to bring back their former star on loan.

A Transfer Waiting to Happen?

Kolasinac moved to Arsenal in 2017 after completing a free transfer from FC Schalke. The full-back made an impressive start to his Arsenal career. When fit, the 27-year-old was an integral part of the Gunners defence during the first two seasons at the club.

Last season saw Kolasinac struggle with injuries. However, he still managed to make 32 appearances in all competitions. The rise of Bukayo Saka and the return to fitness of Kieran Tierney is likely to result in less playing time for the 27-year-old.

A New-Look Arsenal Defence for the Next Season

Arsenal have been one of the most active Premier League teams in the transfer market this summer. The Gunners announced their first signing of the season earlier in the month after signing Brazilian winger Willian on a free from Chelsea. Yesterday, they also announced the permanent deals of Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares.

The Gunners are also expected to announce the signing of highly-rated Brazilian centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille in the coming days. Along with the recruits, French U20 international William Saliba is returning to Emirates following a successful loan spell at St. Etienne.

Potential for More Activity?

The Gunners are reportedly close to announcing a bumper three-year contract for striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey is also reportedly a top priority for the Gunners this season.

The plethora of incoming players have seen some of the existing stars liked with moves out of the club. Apart from Kolasinac, defender Rob Holding has been linked with Leeds United.
