Rodrigo

After finally gaining promotion to the Premier League, Leeds United have turned their attention to finding a forward; a search that will reportedly end with the signing of Valencia’s Rodrigo

According to Fabrizio Romano, a deal between the two clubs has been agreed of £30 million, plus add ons. Romano also reported that the medical has already been scheduled, and personal terms will be agreed within the next hours.

Leeds Agree Deal for Rodrigo

Big Statement

If Leeds do secure the services of Rodrigo, it will be a big statement of intent from the newly-promoted side. They don’t just want to stay in the Premier League, they want to thrive in it and replicate what Wolverhampton Wanderers have done since promotion.

The transfer of the Spanish forward should lay the groundwork for a successful first season back in the top flight.

Rodrigo Is Some Talent

As for Rodrigo, he looks set to follows Dani Parejo out the exit door as Valencia look to recover from the financial impact of Covid-19. The Spanish forward scored an impressive 59 goals during his time at Valencia, alongside a further 41 assists.

In what is now looking like his last season with the club, Rodrigo netted seven goals and assisted a further 11. Those stats alone prove the Spaniard’s playmaking, alongside his goalscoring ability, two traits Leeds will be desperate for.

By working under Marcelo Bielsa, too, Rodrigo will only improve. The Leeds manager expects perfection alongside passion, and the Valencia man should be capable of offering exactly that.

As for Leeds, they’ll be eager to endure an impressive return to the Premier League after a long wait to play in it again. They start with the toughest of tests, however, against the champions, Liverpool. The game may be a difficult one, but Leeds could well pull off a stunning upset.
