The 28-year-old joins from West Ham United; however, he only made a handful of appearances in a Hammers shirt.

Experienced Championship Striker

Hugill is an experienced striker at Championship level, which will prove useful for Norwich as they look to make a swift return to the Premier League.

The 28-year-old is best known for his time at Preston North End, who he joined in the summer of 2014.

After a series of loan spells, Hugill established himself in the first-team set-up at Deepdale in the 2015/16 season. He made 32 appearances, scoring five times.

However, his confidence only grew from there. Across the next season-and-a-half, he made 76 appearances, scoring 23 times.

That record saw him earn a move to West Ham in the 2018 January transfer window, completing a £10 million move.

However, Hugill never made an impact for the Hammers, and has spent the last two years on loan with Middlesbrough and Queens Park Rangers retrospectively.

What Was Said?

Speaking about his move to the Norwich City website, Hugill said: “As soon as I knew they were interested in taking me, it was a decision that I wanted to move quickly. To come here is brilliant for me and my family to get settled again and hit the ground running.

“For me, the aim is to get this club back to where they want to be and for me to prove a point.

“I’m a big, physical presence who will batter a defender around, so quite old school, but I’m also a very powerful striker who can get in the box and on the end of things.

“I’m looking forward to meeting and getting to know everyone, but more importantly I’m looking forward to succeeding with everyone.”
