Borussia Dortmund routed their pre-season opponents during a pair of friendlies this past week. Both matches produced plenty of goals as Dortmund recorded a combined 17 goals against SC Rheindorf Altach and Austria Vienna respectively.

Borussia Dortmund Score Plenty of Goals in Pre-season Friendlies

Dortmund Youngster Giovanni Reyna Shines

The meteoric rise of Giovanni Reyna at Dortmund appears to be alive and well as the American scored three goals in the two matches. After a strong first season with the senior team, Reyna appears he will be a go-to player for Favre in the upcoming season.

With Marco Reus‘ injury, Reyna should be in the starting XI more often, for the start of the season, at least. Based on this preseason performance, he is in good form and is a viable candidate for an elevated role with the club.

Strong Borussia Dortmund Start for Jude Bellingham

Dortmund’s big summer signing, Jude Bellingham, made a very good impression in his first appearances. The 17-year-old scored his first goal for Dortmund on Sunday against Austria Vienna and registered an assist in both matches. His debut with the club will be considered a success as he was able to be a lively and productive player.

The former Birmingham City player appears to be a good fit for Dortmund based on the two fixtures he played in. At just 17, he appears to be destined to become the next best player to come out of Dortmund. The real test still awaits when the Bundesliga and Champions League campaigns kick-off. But, the display in pre-season shows he has what it takes to be a difference-maker for his new team.

Jadon Sancho Puts on a Show Amid Manchester United Link

The Jadon Sancho transfer saga continues to go on as the season draws nearer. Favre played Sancho in both fixtures and he performed terrifically. Against Austria Vienna, he pulled off an audacious move that made headlines while also registering a goal and an assist.

It remains to be seen exactly what will happen to Sancho in the coming weeks, but if he does indeed stay at Dortmund, he is certainly going to continue to put on a show while on the pitch. He appears to be in good form and ready to put together another terrific season in Germany.
