Swindon Town Confirm Anthony Grant and Taylor Curran Sign New Deals

Grant Commits to a One-Year Deal

Central midfielder Grant has signed a new one-year deal a one-year deal at the County Ground.

The 33-year-old was a vital part of Richie Wellens’ side last season. He made 30 appearances for the Robins, as they were promoted to League One as champions.

His performances last year for Swindon saw him earn the club’s Player of the Season trophy too. As a result, he has been rewarded with a new deal.

Speaking about extending his stay at the County Ground, Grant said: “I’m excited, it’s been a few weeks but the gaffer knew that he had my word and now I’ve signed.

“I was always going to come back. I’ve had some time to relax, spent some time with the family, so there were other elements, but I was always coming back. The fans have been patient, the management team have been patient, and I’m happy I’ve come through the door again.”

Curran Commits to a Longer Deal

Grant’s Swindon team-mate Taylor Curran has signed a new three-year deal, meaning he will remaining at the County Ground until 2023.

The 20-year-old is yet to become a first-team regular for Swindon. He has made just four appearances in total after joining from Southend United in 2018.

However, he is now hoping that he can push on and make an impression on his manager.

“I’m obviously delighted. At first it was a scary environment, coming into a first-team but since I’ve been here the players and the staff have been great and looked after me,” he said.

“I’m here for a while so hopefully I can push on and really get some game time and start playing in front of the fans more often.

“The reason I decided to sign a new contract is the opportunity given at the club. Just training with the older, more experienced boys, it’s brought my game on loads and that was the selling factor.”
