Shipley Rewarded for an Outstanding Season

Shipley is a product of the Coventry academy and has grown from strength to strength. Since breaking into the team, he has helped Coventry to two promotions.

It’s been a special season for the midfielder, who surpassed 100 games and captained Coventry for the first time. He will be an integral part to the Sky Blues’ success in the Championship next season.

Shipley has made 120 appearances for the club, scoring 16 goals in the process. He is a real fans favourite and tying him down shows Coventry’s ambition as a club.

Shipley Honoured to Sign New Deal

Speaking to the Coventry website about his new deal, Shipley said “I feel great, it’s a great achievement for me again and now I’m looking to kick on again next season.

“This club means a lot to me and everyone’s heard the story, I’ve been here since I was seven years old and I’ve come through the ranks and finally broke into the first team and now I’m established in that team and to be offered another deal, it’s a great honour for me.

“Growing up here, I know what it means to the fans to get back into the Championship and now we’re here hopefully we can kick on and establish ourselves and then try and push on to bigger and better things.

“Things started off a little slow when I was a first-year pro but towards the end I got given a chance in the first team and then in my second year I really kicked on and I haven’t looked back since and now we’re in the Championship.

“It’s going to be testing at a higher standard and it’s going to be difficult, but I’m sure with the squad we’ve got and the depth we have, that it’s going to be a good season.

“It’s going to be a good season and we can’t wait to have you back in the crowd and cheering us all on.”
