Attracting Interest From Elsewhere

The Argentinian winger is attracting interest from multiple clubs, including La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.

However, Buendia insists that he is still enjoying life in Norfolk.

“I am happy here,” he said to Sky Sports.

“When I came from Spain, with the people, the club, the city, everyone [has] helped me a lot since the beginning.

“Of course, I have a contract here. I am happy here, and I hope the club, the team and the fans get back to the Premier League as soon as possible.

“We have to be focused to finish the season well, nothing thinking about next season or each player in himself. Now we have to finish, we have a game tomorrow and one more at Carrow Road. We have to think to finish the league with our best performance.”

Impressive Two Years With the Canaries

Buendia has impressed at Carrow Road since joining in 2018.

There was doubts about whether he would be able to cope with the standard of the Premier League after his quick rise to the Championship. However, he has exceeded expectations in a dreary Norwich side.

The Argentine has one goal and seven assists this season in the Premier League. His solitary goal of the season so far came in their recent 2-1 defeat to Watford, where he cut back onto his left foot to send a beautiful curling effort beyond Ben Foster.

His eight goal contributions is what has made him catch the eye of several on-lookers, including Atletico Madrid. As a result of Norwich’s relegation, he is one of several players that could be sold in order to keep the club sustainable in its model.
