The 19-year-old becomes FGR’s third signing of the off-season after Nicky Cadden and Dan Sweeney joined the Gloucestershire side.

It shows further trust in youth by the League Two side – it comes after a tenth place finish, nine points adrift the play-offs.

The versatile midfielder – who can play as a left-sided defender or midfielder – spent part of last season with Lancaster City.

After completing the move, Evans said: “I was really excited when I first heard about the prospect of coming to the club.

“The standards, the ethos, the way they play – I couldn’t be happier to sign.

“I’m excited by the challenge of coming into a new environment and having to prove my worth.

“When given my chance, I’ll make sure I take it and show everyone what I’m capable of.”

Richard Hughes, Director of Football, added: “We’ve been following his career with interest at Blackburn and are pleased to get this deal done.

“He’s a talented player and we hope he develops at FGR.”

Third Signing of the Summer

Evans becomes FGR’s third signing so far this summer as manager Mark Cooper prepares for the next campaign.

Cooper’s recruitment drive began on July 2 with the arrival of Dan Sweeney from Barnet.

The 26-year-old arrived on a free transfer and has signed a two-year deal at New Lawn.

Sweeney began his career at AFC Wimbledon before being released by the London club. The midfielder made his name in non-league with the likes of Kingstonian, Dulwich Hamlet and Maidstone United.

A day later Nicky Cadden joined from Scottish side Greenock Morton.

The former Livingstone and Ayr United left-winger is to enjoy his first taste of English football with FGR.

The Scotsman scored five goals, and added nine assists, in 22 Championship appearances this term for the Ton.
