Harvey Neville Signs First Professional Contract at Manchester United

Harvey Neville

Manchester United youngster Harvey Neville, who is the son of former ‘Class of 92‘ member Phil, and of course, nephew of Gary, has signed his first professional contract with the club.

Harvey confirmed the news himself on his Instagram page.

“Proud to have signed my first professional contract with Manchester United,” Neville said on the social media platform.

“Thank you to all my family and coaches for their support,” he added.

His father replied with the red, white and black circle emoji’s, the prominent colours of Manchester United, of course, alongside a heart emoji.

The replies were flooded with support from his United teammates, as well as youngsters at rival clubs, such as Tom Cannon, of Everton.

David May also responded: “Well done mate keep up the hard work.”

Career So Far

Harvey, 18, returned to Manchester United in 2018, having been at the club as a child. Before returning, he had spells within the set-ups at Manchester City and Valencia.

Unlike his father and uncle, Harvey has so far been involved with the Republic of Ireland at youth level, as opposed to England.

Despite that, Harvey does have something in common with his relatives: he’s a right-back.

No doubt he will have been afforded a lot of knowledge about the position. Which, in addition to the level of coaching he will have received to-date, will stand him in good stead for the future.

What’s Next?

Having signed a professional contract, Harvey will be looking to impress the coaches at Manchester United and make the jump from the U18’s to the U23’s.

He is part of a promising crop of players in the academy at Manchester United and will hope to eventually follow in the footsteps of both Phil and Gary and walk out onto the pitch at Old Trafford as a member of the first team.
